.UPDATE...An isolated thunderstorm developed across the Atlantic coastal waters of Puerto Rico during the evening hours. Meanwhile, trade wind showers moving between 15-25 kt persisted across the regional waters with a few moving over land areas, across the eastern sections of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The 06/00z SJU upper air sounding indicated drier air intrusion between 600-500mb and a 20 to 25 knot low level east wind flow with sufficient moisture. Therefore, passing trade wind showers are expected to move from time to time across portions of the USVI and the eastern sections of PR.
.AVIATION...Mainly VFR conditions are expected to prevail across all terminals during the next 24 hours. However, trade wind showers may cause RA/VCSH across the USVI terminals and TJSJ overnight. The 06/00z TJSJ upper air sounding indicated E-ESE winds at 10-25 kt from the sfc to FL050.
.MARINE...East winds between 15-20 kt will cause choppy seas between 5-7 feet across the offshore waters and local passages through at least Thursday. Therefore, small craft advisories are in effect for these waters. Across the coastal waters, small crafts should exercise caution due to seas up to 6 feet and/or winds up to 20 kt. A high risk of rip currents will continue through at least Thursday for the east coast of St. Croix. A moderate risk of rip currents will prevail across the rest of the islands.
